## What is AppXpose?

AppXpose is an Android privacy scanner that shows you what the apps on 
your phone actually do — not what their store listing claims.

I built it after reading study after study (Mozilla, Oxford, PETS) showing 
that Play Store privacy labels often don't match real app behavior — and 
realizing there was no tool regular people could use to check. Everything 
that existed was built for security researchers.

So AppXpose analyzes the APK itself: static bytecode analysis, directly on 
your device — no app code ever gets uploaded. It detects hidden tracker 
SDKs (170+ signatures from Exodus Privacy plus our own research), dangerous 
or out-of-place permissions, repackaged and fake APKs, and cross-checks 
against malware and breach databases. Every finding is evidence-based: if 
AppXpose says an app contains a tracker, that tracker was found in the 
code — not estimated from metadata. An AI summary translates the findings 
into plain language.

The detection engine improves through community discovery: unknown SDK 
signatures found across devices get confirmed and synced daily, no app 
update needed.
