Guide

How IndexNow pings work

Host a key (8-128 letters, numbers, hyphens) at /{key}.txt or a keyLocation you control. The body must equal the key with no HTML wrapper.

POST host, key, keyLocation, and urlList to api.indexnow.org. 200 and 202 both count as accepted.

You can only ping URLs on the host that owns the key. This tool will not submit another site's URLs.

Questions

IndexNow FAQ

What is IndexNow?

A protocol so search engines (Bing, Yandex, and others) learn about URL changes without waiting on a crawl. You host a key file and POST a URL list.

Why must the key file match?

IndexNow only accepts pings when https://yourhost/{key}.txt (or the keyLocation you set) returns the exact key. HTML wrappers fail the check.

Can I ping someone else's site?

No. URLs must be https on the host you declare, and you must control that key file. ScrollLaunch uses IndexNow on publish - see /blog and product go-live.
