What is SkyLab?
We were fed up of AI being built for teams of 1. The real world runs with teams doing the work. We realised that AI could work better in team environments if we could share the same prompts and skills but also make them better together. Crucially technical and non-technical people working together!
SkyLab is the central workspace for teams to build, share, version and deploy AI prompts and agent skills collaboratively.
Most teams keep their best prompts in scattered docs, Slack threads and notebooks, and their agent skills on one person's laptop. Nobody knows which version is current, edits overwrite each other, and when something regresses in production there's no record of what changed.
SkyLab gives every prompt and skill a proper home:
- AI-assisted authoring: a guided wizard turns a plain description of the job into a structured prompt or a complete SKILL.md.
- Version control: every edit is a tracked version you can compare side by side, with one live version you can trust.
- AI-powered review: on-demand analysis of strengths, gaps and a ready-to-accept revised draft.
- Skills with files: scripts and reference files alongside each skill, import from .zip, export back to disk.
- Marketplace: search ready-made skills, read every file before you commit, and fork them into your workspace with updates tracked upstream.
- Token estimation across OpenAI, Anthropic and Google.
- API, SDK and MCP access: pull the live version into your app or agent by slug.
Works with the AI you already use, including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, DeepSeek, OpenRouter and Ollama.
Best for: AI and product engineers, prompt reviewers and QA, and teams scaling their use of AI
