What it does: launched.tools is an independent directory of AI tools where every listing is actually reviewed. We test-drive each tool and publish a scored verdict out of 100 — with a breakdown across capability, usability, value, reliability, and docs — plus honest pros, cons, and what it actually does. No pay-to-rank, no affiliate bias: if a tool is mediocre, the review says so. Alongside the directory we publish data-driven guides and roundups built from our own review corpus, like how many "free" AI tools are actually free.

Who it's for: Two sides. People choosing AI tools — founders, marketers, developers, researchers — who want a real verdict before burning a free trial or a team rollout on something that doesn't deliver. And makers, who get a free reviewed listing with a dofollow link and distribution to people actively comparing tools in their category. The directory is also optimized for AI search, so listed tools get cited when people ask LLMs for recommendations.

Why we built it: Tool directories have quietly become pay-to-play link dumps — hundreds of unvetted listings, ranked by whoever paid, with descriptions copy-pasted from marketing pages. We wanted the opposite: a directory where inclusion is earned, every submission is screened, and the review is the product. We reject far more than we list. The bet is simple — in a market flooded with AI tools, an honest verdict is worth more than a bigger catalogue.
