## About Tellie

Tellie is the Mac teleprompter that understands. It lives in the MacBook notch, right beside the camera, so you can read and still look at the person you are talking to.

Say it your way; Tellie keeps up. It transcribes what you say, entirely on your Mac, and matches those words against your script to work out where you are in it. Not whether you are speaking: which word. So it keeps your place when you pause, skip ahead, or wander off script, and Stagehand, its coaching strip, remembers which points you have covered and how much time you have left. It follows your voice, but by the words, not the sound.

It is invisible on calls. macOS excludes Tellie's window from screen capture, so Zoom, Teams, Meet, screen recorders and screenshots all get whatever is behind it.

It works on Macs without a notch too (the same strip sits along the top edge), supports 40+ languages, opens Pages, Word, PDF, Markdown and plain text, and can show Keynote speaker notes in the notch (Presenter Magic).

Tellie is free to download. Tellie Pro adds Voice Follow, Stagehand, Presenter Magic and the after-take debrief for $29 once, on up to 3 Macs, with a 14-day refund. Every new install starts with 10 days of Pro, no card and no sign-up.

Requires an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) on macOS 14 or later. Made by Steve Chazin, a former Apple marketer, and named after his granddaughter Ellie, who is learning to read.

## Overview

### Who is it for?

Creators, presenters, teachers, and actors using Mac.

### Problem

People struggle to maintain eye contact while reading scripts or notes during presentations, leading to disengagement. Traditional teleprompters can be clunky and require manual adjustments, which disrupts the flow of speaking.

### Solution

Tellie solves this by listening to your voice and highlighting the words in real-time, allowing you to focus on your audience instead of looking away to find your place.
Mark the points that matter and they check themselves off as you say them, even in your own words, and a quiet heads-up arrives while there's still time to cover everything. It also integrates seamlessly with Keynote for presentations, advancing slides automatically based on your speech.

### What makes it unique

Unlike other teleprompters, Tellie uses on-device speech recognition to track your exact words, ensuring a smooth experience without the need for internet connectivity or external devices. Its privacy-first approach means your data stays on your Mac, and it operates invisibly during recordings.

A scrolling teleprompter sets a speed and makes you keep up with it. Tellie follows the words you actually say, one at a time, and waits while you pause. Go off script and it keeps your place. Skip a line and it finds you. You talk. Tellie keeps up.
