Guide

How to use keyword density without over-optimising

Density is a diagnostic, not a ranking factor Google publishes. Aim for natural language: primary keyword around 1-2% on short pages, and rely more on synonyms and entities than repetition.

If one phrase dominates the top 2-grams, rewrite sentences so the copy still reads like a human wrote it for a founder audience.

After density looks sane, run the same draft through the Meta Description Tester and Title Tag Generator so SERP snippets match the body topic.

Questions

Keyword Density FAQ

What keyword density should I aim for?

There is no official Google target. For short pages, ~1-2% for a primary phrase usually feels natural. If the copy sounds forced, rewrite even if the number looks “perfect.”

Why are small words missing from the table?

The checker skips common stop words (the, and, of, …) so results focus on content terms. Raw word count still includes everything.

What should I do after density looks good?

Generate a title tag and meta description that use the same primary phrase once, naturally.
