Guide

How to check meta tags

Crawlers and social networks read title, description, robots, canonical, and Open Graph from the first HTML response. This tool dumps those tags so you can see what they see.

Aim for a unique title around 50-60 characters and a description around 150-160. Viewport is required for mobile. Canonical should match the preferred URL.

Client-rendered apps may inject tags after load. If the table looks empty, the first HTML may be a shell - fix tags in the server response.

Questions

Meta Tags FAQ

What is a meta tags checker?

It fetches a URL and lists the HTML title plus every <meta> tag so you can see what crawlers and social networks read.

Which tags should every page have?

A unique title (~50-60 characters), a meta description (~150-160), viewport, and usually a canonical. Robots only if you need noindex or similar.

How is this different from SERP preview?

This dumps the raw tags. SERP preview shows how title and description may truncate in Google.
