Guide

UTM parameter naming tips

Always set source (where), medium (channel type), and campaign (the push name). Keep values lowercase with underscores so reports stay consistent across tools.

Use content to distinguish creative variants (announcement vs thread) and term for paid keywords. Never put personally identifiable information in UTMs.

Do not add UTMs to ScrollLaunch badge embed hrefs - keep ?ref=badge clean for Ahrefs attribution. Use this builder for your own outbound campaign links.

Explore more on free ScrollLaunch tools, browse DR-ranked directories, or launch with a dofollow backlink.

Questions

UTM Builder FAQ

What UTM parameters should I always set?

At minimum: utm_source (where), utm_medium (how), and utm_campaign (which push). Content and term are optional for A/B tests and paid keywords.

Will UTMs break my ScrollLaunch badge link?

Don't add UTMs to the badge href we give you - keep ?ref=badge clean for Ahrefs attribution. Use this builder for your outbound campaign links instead. See pricing for launch options.

Do I need Google Analytics for UTMs to work?

UTMs work in any analytics tool that reads query parameters (GA4, Plausible, etc.). The link itself is just a URL.
