Prompt: add JSON-LD structured data to every page type
Paste this into Claude Code, Cursor or Codex inside your repo. The agent maps each page type to the right schema.org types, builds the JSON-LD from the same data the page renders, and adds a test. It won't mark up anything the page doesn't show.

The prompt
Paste it into an agent that has your repo open. It plans first and waits for your OK before writing code.
Or paste one line
Fetch https://www.scrolllaunch.com/prompts/structured-data.md and carry out the prompt in its "Prompt" section on this repo. Show me your plan before writing code. For agents that can fetch URLs. The agent pulls the full prompt from this page's markdown version, which includes the last step above.
What you get
What your repo has when the agent is done
- A page type → schema.org type table, with the data source for each field
- Builder functions in one file instead of JSON strings pasted into pages
- Organization and WebSite on the homepage, referenced by
@ideverywhere else - SoftwareApplication or Product, Article, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList and ItemList where they fit
- No
aggregateRatingor reviews unless real reviews are shown on the page - A test that parses every page type's JSON-LD and checks required fields

Check your result
Deployed? Score your site
Runs your live URL through the free Schema Markup Checker. Free JSON-LD extractor - list schema.org types and raw structured data from any page.
This lists the JSON-LD types found on a page; it isn't a score. After deploy, also run two or three URLs through Google's Rich Results Test.
How to use
4 steps from paste to deploy
- 1
Open your repo in a coding agent
Claude Code, Cursor (agent mode), Codex or Windsurf.
- 2
Paste the prompt and check the type table
Make sure every type matches what the page really is. A blog post is an Article; a pricing page is not a Product.
- 3
Say OK
The agent writes the builders, wires them into each page type and adds the test.
- 4
Deploy and validate
Check a few URLs in the schema checker and Google's Rich Results Test.

Questions
Structured data prompt FAQ
Will structured data get me rich results?
It makes you eligible; Google decides whether to show them. FAQ rich results are now limited to a small set of sites, but the markup still helps search engines and AI answer engines understand the page.
Why no star ratings?
Marking up ratings the page doesn't show, or that aren't from real reviews, breaks Google's guidelines and can earn a manual action. The prompt only adds ratings when real reviews are stored and visible.
