## How to use

1. **Paste a public URL** - Homepage or a key landing page. Localhost is blocked.
2. **Pick mobile or desktop** - Mobile is the default - that is what most founders need to pass.
3. **Read lab vs field** - Fix the largest lab savings first, then confirm field LCP/INP/CLS once you have traffic.

## How to read a PageSpeed Insights report

Google runs Lighthouse on the URL from their lab. The Performance score is a weighted blend of FCP, LCP, TBT, CLS, and Speed Index - not a ranking factor by itself. Core Web Vitals in Search Console use field data, not this one lab run.

Treat 90+ as good, 50-89 as needs work, and below 50 as poor - the same bands Google uses. A single run can swing 5-10 points. Re-test after a deploy rather than chasing one point.

Field data appears only when Chrome UX Report has enough samples for that URL (or the origin). New launches often have lab scores only. That is expected, not a tool failure.

This is the official PageSpeed Insights API, not a local Lighthouse install. Results should match pagespeed.web.dev for the same URL and strategy.
