## How to check if a website is down

If you cannot load a site, it may be your network, DNS, or a regional outage. This tool asks from our server so you have a second opinion.

HTTP 200-399 counts as up. A 404 or 500 means the host answered but the page is erroring - not the same as offline.

For a launch, pair an up check with DNS and SSL so you know the name, certificate, and origin all work.
