Before pointing a custom domain at Vercel/Cloudflare, confirm A/CNAME targets and that old records are gone.

TXT records prove domain ownership for Google, Resend, and many SaaS tools - look them up here after you add them.

Questions

DNS Lookup FAQ

What is a DNS lookup?

A DNS lookup asks the public DNS system which IP addresses, mail servers, name servers, and text records are published for a hostname.

Which record types does this tool return?

A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, TXT, and SOA when they exist. Empty types are omitted from the result list.

Why check DNS before a product launch?

Wrong A/AAAA or CNAME records break HTTPS and redirects. After DNS looks correct, verify TLS with the SSL checker and hop chains with the redirect checker.

Can I look up localhost or private IPs?

No. Only public hostnames are allowed.
