Guide

How to check email authentication

Launch week newsletters fail when SPF, DKIM, or DMARC are missing. Receivers treat unsigned mail as spam.

Start with p=none on DMARC to monitor, then move to quarantine or reject once SPF and DKIM align with your ESP.

DKIM selectors are not guessable. We try common names; paste the selector from Google Workspace, Resend, Postmark, or Mailgun if needed.

Questions

Email Auth FAQ

What are SPF, DKIM, and DMARC?

SPF lists which servers may send mail for the domain. DKIM signs messages. DMARC tells receivers what to do when those checks fail (none, quarantine, or reject).

Why is DKIM missing?

DKIM lives at selector._domainkey.example.com. We try common selectors (google, selector1, k1, …). Paste your ESP selector if it is custom.

Does this send test email?

No - DNS only. For all record types use the DNS lookup.
